If you're interested in vocational nursing, you can find programs at the Alhambra or in Anaheim, California, locations.

The practical nurse program will provide you with the skills and training to oversee and manage individual treatment. You will gain basic nursing knowledge and patient care concepts in a classroom and in a clinical setting. As a practical nurse student, you will be trained to take vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. You will be trained to observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Upon graduation, you'll discover an abundance of employment opportunities in nursing homes, doctors' offices, clinics, hospitals and in private homes.

The vocational nursing program prepares students for vocational and practical nursing positions within medical facilities. Students enrolled in this course study fundamental principles and practices of nursing, including anatomy and physiology, infection control, asepsis and patient care skills, pharmacology, and the nursing process.

In addition to clinical rotations, vocational nurse students also have the opportunity to practice their skills in the clinical skills lab. Clinical skills competency will be assessed at the completion of pharmacology and the completion of each level. The combination of introduced skills taught in this program, will prepare you for the ever-changing field of nursing and health care. The objective of the vocational nursing program is to provide the student with the appropriate didactic theory and hands-on skills required and necessary, to prepare them for entry-level positions as licensed practical nurse in health care centers clinics, and facilities.
