Kansas is a rural state that is located in the middle of the country. Famous for its flat plains and temperamental weather, Kansas' economy is largely dependent on agriculture. With less than 3 million people inhabiting the entire state, Kansas is one of the quietest areas in the country (assuming it isn't tornado season).
Nurses who would like to start a career in Kansas should find plenty of open positions with the Great Plains Health Alliance. This system of health care facilities boast numerous locations across the state, including the towns of Atwood, Osborne and Coldwater. There is a vast shortage of medical professionals in Kansas and nurses at all levels should have an easy time finding work in local hospitals, clinics and schools.
