Maryland, one of the oldest states in America, is located on the east coast. This state is known for being a wealthy community in comparison to the national average and is culturally diverse in regards to race. The nation's capitol, Washington D.C., can be found in west Maryland on the Virginia border.
Nurses will find many opportunities for employment in Maryland. Major hospital systems throughout the state are looking to hire both new and experienced nurses. Johns Hopkins Medicine, found in Baltimore, is one of the largest employers of medical professionals in the state. Since much of Maryland's population is concentrated in major cities, urban hospital districts and medical facilities will be a nurse's most likely place to find available jobs.
