Nursing Schools in Nebraska

The Nebraska Center for Nursing projects a 20 percent shortfall in registered nurses and a 23 percent shortfall in licensed practical nurses throughout the state. As a nurse, you could find employment opportunities in smaller towns and in areas such as North Platte, but you'll also find ample opportunity for employment in Lincoln, the capital city, and in Omaha, the largest city in the state.

The BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln, for example, offers community outreach and a wide variety of services to that community. In Omaha, you'll find numerous hospitals and research centers, including the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The Methodist Health Care System is also actively involved with community outreach and a variety of medical services.

Whether you prefer the city or a rural setting, the working nurse can find hospitals, retirement centers, alcohol and drug rehabilitation services, and numerous clinics and doctors' offices where services are needed throughout Nebraska.
