Nursing Schools in North Carolina
Four of the top 10 fastest growing jobs in North Carolina for people with two-year degrees include nurses, and these positions are among those expected to increase by 5,430 jobs annually within the next seven years. In addition, North Carolina is actively seeking programs that will help to expand nursing services in the state, such as the recent $250,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that will fund efforts to ease the regional nursing shortfall at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and East Carolina University.
Pitt County Memorial Hospital, located in Greenville, is one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina and the flagship hospital for University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina. But, this is just one medical facility among many that serves the capital of Raleigh and major cities such as Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Chapel Hill. No matter if you like the shore or the mountains, North Carolina has nursing opportunities for you to pursue.
