Nursing Schools in Utah
Many states throughout the nation are receiving grant monies to educate more nurses to fill shortages, and Utah hasn't been spared. Recently, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has selected the University of Utah's College of Nursing to take part in a new initiative that will allow the university to receive five new faculty members to educate nurses. Also, the Utah State Office of Education recently budgeted a $1,000,000 incentive fund with the purpose to fund more school nurses.
These funds sweeten a pot where international health care experts recently ranked Salt Lake City's Intermountain Health Care the number one hospital in the world. Salt Lake City, the capital and largest city in Utah, also houses approximately 24 other major health facilities, including a burn center, a children's hospital, and a cancer center. Nurses who seek employment in Utah could also find employment in Brigham City, Ogden, Oram, Moab, and more.
